MARY BRADLEY SMITH
Teacher, curriculum writer, site coordinator, pilot test teacher and facilitator at Paul L. Dunbar Community Learning Center; advisor and evaluator of alternative certification interns for Dallas ISD. Teacher of the year at Adelle Turner and Sequoyah elementary schools.

MARILYN GIBSON CALHOUN
An educator for thirty-two years in DISD. Elementary science teacher, instructional facilitator for health and science, served as a principal of Martin L. King Learning Center, Daniel Chappie James Learning Center (Erma Rangel at Chappie James); Consultant and administrator for restructured schools and curriculum writer. Worked for the Texas Education Agency, developed guidelines for charter schools, served as consultant and monitor.

EDWARD COWENS
Devoted life to education. Served thirty-four years in the Dallas ISD. Principal of J. N. Ervin School, Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, Joseph J. Rhoads and B. F. Darrell elementary schools). Served as deputy assistant superintendent for human resources, personnel services department during the implementation of the desegregation court orders.

DR. LEON KING
Four decades of service in Dallas ISD. Teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal of Sequoyah, D. A. Hulcy and Comstock Middle Middle Schools and James Madison High School. Classroom at Lincoln High School named in his honor. One of the first African American students and athletes at the North Texas State University (University of North Texas).

LOIS DUNBAR KING
Career spanned thirty-six years. Served as a reading specialist at Wiley College, Wilmer-Hutchins ISD, Prairie A&M University and Dallas ISD. Other positions DISD: curriculum development, professional development, Taught reading at Thomas Jefferson High School, secondary director of reading language arts. Consultant with the Texas Education Agency, School Improvement Initiative.

PATRICIA E. MAYS
Served as an educator in the Garland and Dallas ISD. Taught in Garland ISD. Veteran of twelve years in the classroom, assistant principal and eleven years as principal of Frederick Douglass and Leslie Stemmons elementary schools. Active in community and civic affairs, served as president of the Metroplex Association of Realtors.

DR. JOE MCCALISTER
Rich and rewarding career spanned over forty years in the Dallas ISD. Served as teacher or principal in seven schools, including principal of Ascher Silberstein, Edward Titche and Seagoville elementary schools. Following retirement from DISD, McCallister became director of the Texas College Student Learning Center. Texas Education Agency Gold Performance Award. Selected as Administrator of the Year by the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

WAYLAN D. WALLACE
Forty-two year career in public education. Served as a teacher at B.T. Washington, Pearl C. Anderson, T. W. Browne and Franklin D. Roosevelt; principal of Adelle Turner Elementary, D. A. Hulcy Middle School and South Oak Cliff High School. Selected as Exemplary Principal of the Year In DISD and presented the Outstanding Leadership Award by Southern by Southern Methodist University.

ROBBYE L. WILLIAMS
Educator focused on reading instruction, forty one year career. Served thousands of students and teachers at seven schools in the Dallas ISD. Teacher, grades 1-8; developed school improvement plans, monitored classroom instruction, provided staff development, demonstration teaching. Legendary teacher, teacher extraordinaire, master teacher's master teacher. Role model for teachers.
