Began his career as a teacher in DISD at J. H. Brown and Pearl C. Anderson. Served as Assistant Principal of Thomas Edison Jr. High, Pearl C. Anderson Middle School, and Lincoln High School; Principal of John N. Bryan Elem. and Pinkston High. Consultant and Director of staff development for four low-achieving DISD schools; Consultant-Instructional Services for Region X, Ed. Service Center. Developed and coordinated TAAS Tutoring Program and TAAS Testing sites.
